Optic

Optic is a limited edition A5 sketchbook, handmade using the intricate sewn board technique — a traditional method of board attachment that allows the book to open beautifully flat. Designed for drawing, writing, travelling, or simply collecting whatever ideas find their way onto its pages.

Inside are 128 pages of 140 gsm Fedrigoni Arena Ivory Rough paper, arranged in eight signatures and hand-sewn with waxed thread. The warm ivory paper has a subtly textured surface that works beautifully for both pencil and ink.

The hardcover combines deep green book cloth with graphic patterned paper discovered in Berlin, creating a series of shifting geometric compositions. Metallic copper and silver details catch the light against the green ground, giving each pattern its own rhythm and optical character. A warm ochre ribbon bookmark completes the book.
